Ingredients
- 4 pork belly strips
FOR THE SAUCE
- 4 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ready-made barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil
- 1 tablespoon cider apple vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon English mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic granules
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 232°C/450°F/Gas mark 7.
- Make the sauce by placing all the ingredients together in a blender, or by adding them to a jar and shaking them well, so they all amalgamate.
- Wipe and dry the pork belly strips and lay them out straight in an oven-proof dish. Spoon the sauce over them to coat and turn the slices over so they are coated on both sides.
- Cook in the pre-heated oven for 45 minutes, turning them around in the sauce regularly, or until they are cooked, crispy and are slightly charred around the edges, the fat should be crispy too.
- Serve immediately with the sauce spooned over them. Serve with baked potatoes and coleslaw for a delicious tasty meal.
